[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Starting AX 4.0 through an Icon

2007-06-26 Thread Karsten Krabbes
This is the help from 3.0 but it works also in 4.0.
Use a configuration file
Rather than have Navision Axapta read settings from the registry,
settings can be read from a text file generated from the Navision
Axapta Configuration Utility. The file name and path can then be
given as a command-line parameter in the Axapta shortcut, for example

C:\Program Files\NavisionAxapta\bin\ax32.exe
Q:\Global\AxaptaConfig.axc

where Q is a global network drive.

The settings defined in the configuration export file override any
Navision Axapta registry settings.

Using a configuration file is a way to ensure that multiple clients
use the same setup.

As Steve said.
In Addition you should be aware configuration keys depend sometimes
on license keys. So you guessed right .. there might be a missing
license for those fields.
On the other hand you don't need those fields when you have no code
to fill them ;)

I can see about 13 fields extra at the table in Axapta Data

I tried synchronize the data dictionary and even particularly

Is there any possibility that a license will restrict the field

 Or how this could happen?

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Remove Class from memory ?

2005-07-07 Thread Karsten Krabbes
Hi,

RTFM
check out the Axapta Development Guide in Axapta search fpr
finalize and it is said:
'You can use a finalizer to perform necessary teardown actions. This
code fragment illustrates how to activate the finalize method in a
class. Notice that Finalizers in X++ are not called automatically by
the system. You have to explicitly call Finalize to execute the
statements in it.

Even though the finalize method does not contain any code, execution
of finalize has an important side effect. When you call Finalize,
MorphX closes down the object. This means that by using this.Finalize
an object can remove itself from memory.

Finalize is also the place to put any other clean-up code, for
example if your class uses a DLL module, you can use the Finalize
method to release the DLL when you do not need it anymore.'

In the pas it was said the only way to remove an object from memory
was to set it to NULL but it might been changed meanwhile.
If you're really interested you coud check it out with form
SysHeapCheck.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: EP Web- How to show personalize and blank login.

2005-06-17 Thread Karsten Krabbes
Hi Sonny,

for your second question ...
Axapta EP has a problem with resources .. so when you change the
company logo resource in EP, export the project and import it on
another machine ... Axapta can not run the EP. It seems Axapta can
not find that resource when creating the Webpage.
Solution:
Go to that specific webpage (online webpage) and change the parameter
resource for the company logo to another resource .. and than change
it back to your original ... Axapta reads it in again and can display
it in the webpage (btw ... the resource is shown correctly in the
html editor )

sometimes you also need to change the resource itself (reread the
picture)

Hi Hans,
1.) You can specify the Username in the axxonfig (First Tabpage ..

2.) I assume you set up the identity in then COM+ Component ?. You
need to log on once with this identity, create a configuration (that
configuration is used, when the com component is started).
3.) You should check also if you can start Axapta as this identity.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: application object id's

2004-10-01 Thread Karsten Krabbes
Hi Danny,
you answered you question by yourself :-)
Table CustTable is created in the sys-layer (id-77) that id will
never be changed (hopefully). When you make a modifcation in a
diferent layer you only change fields or properties. Take the field
PBACustGroupId ... it comes from gls-layer and has id 8002.
The same methodology aplies to classes. You have on class and that
class has the same id no matter in which layer you change some
methods.

Different are reports and forms.
Here you make a copy of the object into the new layer. And it seems
Axapta is not working with id's here. You only have a function
called formstr() .. for classes and tables you have tableid...
classid...

Re: RE : [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Multi-language users

2004-10-01 Thread Karsten Krabbes
Hi Hardi,
it depends how you start axapta.
Normally the configutation is stored in the personal settings of the
user. Means every user has its own configuration.
If you start axapta with a global configuration than of cause all
users have the same language.

But you can change the language of the interface when axapta is
running. Just use
infolog.language('languageid');
all you need to do than is a redraw of the actual elements ...
propably you can use that code somewhere in applicationstartup
methods.
