[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Remote Axapta client software?

2006-06-02 Thread Philip R. Freimann

We have a remote location - 2500 miles. They need to enter customer
orders, pick, pack, ship and invoice as well as online queries.

The Axapta client is inefficient for this type of connection over a DSL
line.

Does anyone have a better experience? Does anyone know of a client
specifically written for Axapta - perhaps an ASP?

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Remote Axapta client software?

2006-06-02 Thread Philip R. Freimann

Hi Malcom,

My network administrator had some security concern using Windows
Terminal Services - not sure what.

Would that be similar to a PC Anywhere connection where they are
actually working on a session that is here at headquarters? If so,
can they print their paper work at their site?

Have you considered running Axapta from within a Windows Terminal
Services session to solve your problem. You should find that WTS is
able
to cope with the network latency that you would experience over that
kind of distance. Your users simply connect to the remote WTS
machine
over DSL and the WTS connects to Axapta.

If you need to go over greater distances still than you can look at
Citrix as this is better able to cope with the latency.

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Re: Master Planning: Why CANCEL a PLANNED order?

2006-04-10 Thread Philip R. Freimann
Jens and Harry,

Thank-you both for your input. I am not new to master planning but
am VERY new to Axapta master planning.

If I am hearing you correctly then, Axapta really is suggesting I
cancel the PLANNED order. I'm not used to that. My previous
software would have done that before I would see it.

The only demand on this item is for safety stock and then there are
19 BOM line requirements. The current on-hand and on-order will more
than cover the requirements. It recommends reducing and delaying the
two purchase orders and many of the planned orders.

What is the process to cancel the PLANNED order then?

suggest

You will then see an action to increase the current PO, while

[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Document Handling - Work Order creation

2005-09-16 Thread Philip R. Freimann
We want to have the 'document handling' icon highlighted during Work
Order creation.

We would like to print item and route operation related documents
that are stored on the network.

We have encountered two problems:
   1) If you point to an existing document - Axapta COPIES that
document into it's document directory. When changes are made to the
original document, they are NOT reflected in Axapta.

   2) We have activated document handling tables for InventTable and
added ProdTable and Route. ProdTable is only related to a specific
work order, so not practical. The other notes don't seem to be
available at work order creation time.

The employees need to know the documents are present, so they can
print them out.

How are you solving this?

Thank-you,
Philip

 1. As Jens mentioned you can write a simple job to get the info log
of all the missing items.
However, at the same time you may need to check reqItemTable,
InventItemlocation etc ect for that missing items.

 2. I strongly suggest to run consistency check for the whole
company on all the modules. Its very important to run consistency
check after you migrated the data. Eventhough consistency check will
not tell everything, but defintely catch these kind of problems.

 Best of Luck.

 Thanks,

Exactly. Just create a small job that runs through all BOM lines
and lookup
each itemid. The ones, that do not exist in InventTable, will create
 problems.

That's a possibility. We just converted and went live last month.
How could I identify this? just match the BOM lines against
 InventTable items?

I have the following error messages at the end of the Master

are the only messages. Can someone tell me what they mean? Do
they
mean the explosion did not complete? If so where did it stop or
how
  much did it complete?
