RE: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] W2008 compatible

2008-08-13 Thread James Flavell
Thanks Andrew

This is for our internal server (we are a partner) and so I think from your
feedback I will go ahead to order a sever with W2008 (we will have a W2003
available if things go terribly wrong but I just wanted to know if there was
major headaches with AX and W2008 and if so I would not bother)

Thank you very much
James

James,

As we prepare to move from 3.4, we're running AX2009 on WS2008 standard.
We're also running SQL2008 for the back end. Disclaimer: "running" !=
production system.

Sorry if this has been asked but is AX able to run on W2008 server std
edition? Refering to Ax3.0, Ax4.0 or Ax2009

Also the same question for x64bit OS versions can AX run on them? Is there
any risk or benefit to running AX on x64 bit? From what I understand AX2009
make uses of 64bit but Ax3.0 and Ax4.0 do not so maybe there is no
advantage?

Thanks

James
