[AZORES-Genealogy] Re: Obit - Joao Luis Pacheco - Toronto, Ontario Canada
Hello, Since my husband's great-grandfather was reportedly named, Joao PACHECO, probably born mid-1800's in Sao Miguel, I am curious if anyone knows where this man was born in 1924. The grandfather was born in Sao Miguel in ~1885 and came to MA/US in ~1905, and he was Antonio PACHECO.Tony is one of my brick walls, as I don't know if he had siblings, and I don't know if he had relatives in the USA or Canada. I heard 6 mos. ago that another family in Cambridge, MA, US, was related to him, but, as yet, we have no proof. Cheri, I am attaching an article from today's Cape Cod Times that may be of interest to the group. This national repository of Portuguese History At UMASS-Dartmouth will be a wonderful resource for researching Portuguese families, histories, etc. They will continue adding material, as well as hoping to receive material from those who have done so much on their own. The UMASS website is: http://www.lib.umassd.edu/archives/paa/paa.html The newspaper article can be found at: http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090130/NEWS/901300306 Gerry Munroe --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ To unsubscribe from this group, send email to azores-unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.
