Trish,

I have both that I purchased from Furtado Imports, San Jose CA. Their phone
number is 408.293.0401. I paid $50 for each one but they are both invaluable in
translating!

  Hi,
Since getting so much information in the last few days my curiosity has lead
me to information I want to explore, which I found online. It, of course is
written in Portuguese. My Portuguese has been limited to reading baptisms, but
my desire to learn more about Santa Maria has led me to expand my horizons. I
would like to know if there is a good Portuguese to English, English to
Portuguese dictionary that I can get, in hard copy and/or a computer copy (not
an online translator). Right now I am trying Ultralingua which is adequate, but
before buying it I would like to have some input from those more accomplished
than me.
This is the site that has the books I am interested in examining.

2010-01-15 Thread Vivian Christy
Gayle,

Please forward my letter to her that would be great.  I know I have not seen
Mary in such a long time.  I know my own mother is 89 now and she has
Alzheimers.  It is so sad as when she was able to tell me I was not quite into
the genealogy all the way.  So missed so much she could have told me.  I do
plan to stop and see her later this year as we are going to visit my Mother in
law who lives in Mariposa.  So on the way up I plan to stop and visit Mary
Bezera.  It has been a few months since I spoke with her but she is always so
happy when I do.  Thank you for all your help.  Vivian

Vivian,

Also, Rosemarie says your Aunt Mary is 87 years old. I miss my mother and
miss her dearly, so understand it when I say : Don¹t wait too long to visit-
if you do it might be too late.

If its okay with you, I¹d like to forward your letter to Rosemarie. But, I
don¹t want to do that without your permission. Is it okay ?

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] PAF File to FTM

2010-01-15 Thread Inacio Steinhardt
Just ask the person to export his file to GEDCOM. This is an universal
format to which almost every geneaology can export.
Then import the Gedcomfile into your Family Tree Maker.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] PAF File to FTM

2010-01-15 Thread Cheri Mello
Hi Elaine,

As far as I know, FTM will not convert a PAF file. The person needs to put
it into GEDCOM format for you.

Some genealogy programs can read each other through their own technology.
The Master Genealogy can read other files. I think Legacy might and maybe
RootsMagic, but I'm unsure.
