[AZORES-Genealogy] Cardoza family reunion
We are working on a reunion for 2014 for our family and learned from family history that ancestors (my great-grandparents) came from Azores to Hawaii on Bell Rock (1405 passengers) which arrived in Honolulu on November 1, 1883. They then boarded a smaller boat to the island of Hawaii and landed in Laupahoehoe Point. Another vessel about 4 years later, Thomas Bell arrived on April 13, 1888 from Funchal, Madeira which contained my maternal great-grandparents. How can I see the names on this vessel and the other one. Is there a place to go for such information? I am clueless and want to try and gather this information if I can. If any of you have any experience, please share. Janelle C, I'm not clear on what information you want. Information about ships or arrivals or information on how to have a family reunion. I'm not too sure which way to read your question. Janelle, If you are looking for their names on a ship's manifest, you will have to give us their names so we can see if we can locate these records for you. Janelle If you are looking for their names on a ship's manifest try using this site http://archives1.dags.hawaii.gov/gsdl/cgi-bin/library?a=pp=aboutc=indextopl=enw=utf-8 Edward On Oct 6, 2013, at 3:29 PM, E Sharp wrote: Janelle, If you are looking for their names on a ship's manifest, you will have to give us their names so we can see if we can locate these records for you. [AZORES-Genealogy] Pre 1720 Feteira, Faial Marriage Records
I am looking for a marriage record for Manuel Dutra Mendonca and Violante Do Rosario from Feteira, Faial. I checked the marriages on the CCA site from 1726 back to 1720 (their first child I have was probably born abt 1727) but they weren't there. Unfortunately their records don't go back any further than that. Are there previous Feteira records and the CCA doesn't have them up yet or did the people from Feteira go to another fregusia previous to 1720?? Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Double First Cousins chart
Looks good! From: Cheri Mello Sent: Sunday, October 06, 2013 8:59 PM To: Azores Genealogy Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Double First Cousins chart OK, I think I came up with an idea to illustrate double first cousins. I think the people that I used are fairly famous worldwide. If you think of you and your first cousin, you are first cousins because you share Grandma and Grandpa ___ in common. Double first cousins share BOTH sets of grandparents in common. You get a brother and sister from one family marrying the sister and brother from the other family. I've use Desi Arnaz Lucille Ball for one family and John F. Kennedy and Jackie Bouvier Onassis as the other family. Their kids marry each other and we'll pretend they have you and me. Change my gender to suit your needs on the attached chart. (PDF - I think most people can view this).
