2014-10-30 Thread Maria Lima
These are digitized. I live in the USA so I wouldn't have access to the
original documents. I noticed on the link I sent you that these are on
microfiche. If I lived in Victoria, I would go to the public records of five
Victoria and try to see the microfiche. I do not know what document Eliseu had
to know about the expedition. I would love to see that. Sorry I can't be of
more help.

My ancestors who were the Lima's would have been De Resendes if they would have
not changed the name. The earliest De Resendes I have is Sebastiaom de
Resendes Jacome married to Maria Da Costa in Santa Maria island (he was born
around 1675 and died 24 March 1735). She was born 1663. Died 17 December 1735.

Any of these match your line? Actually this is all my husband's ancestors.
The. top of his pedigree chart going back.

Erica,

Erica,

Here is saying that they were going to Rio de Janeiro. I don't have access
to research on Ancestry website, but if I were you, I would go back to the
first page of the book record and make sure that it really belongs to a São
Paulo hospedaria. If you can send me the photo I will take a look for you.
Ancestry may have done a mistake when indexing the book.

The Portuguese immigration in Rio de Janeiro was massive at the time, much
more than in São Paulo. Let me know if you can see the first page of this
Hospedaria, so we will make sure it belongs to SP. They may also had
stopped at Santos port, in São Paulo, stayed at the hospedaria and then
went to Rio de Janeiro, which I think the probabilities are very low, as
Rio de Janeiro port is just above Santos port.

Can some one "decipher" the margin note for the marriage record of:

Francisco Pachdo de Mello and Ela Thomazia (left page), married on December
13?, 1841.

He was the son of Jeronimo Ignacio Pacheno and Rosa Jacinta
She was the daughter of Manoel Francisco Rapozo and Matilde Ricarda

I can see the date of what looks like December 1862 (or 1842) in the note
margin and may be speaking of someones death?

I read lines #14821 and 14822 and there is no last name, how do you know these
are the family members you are looking for? I don't see any other information

Erica,

São Paulo state had up to eight Hospedarias where immigrants, most of the time,
stayed until they were transferred to another place where he/family was going
work for. You have the record of one of the Hospedarias, I'm curious which one
is.

Rio de Janeiro had its own Hospedarias, so if this is a São Paulo Hospedaria,
it makes sense that Capital is the capital of São Paulo estate, which is also
named São Paulo.
