One more thing, Terceira has a marriage index that I used to double check 
the names I thought I read before my last post (because I'm not that good 
at reading these records).  I recall you researching Sao Miguel, Faial, and 
Graciosa before but not Terceira so I wasn't sure you were aware of it.

1: My guess for the month ifs February (Fevr.o) but not with certainty, 
otherwise agree that the day is 5 and the year is 1787.  The father of the 
bride looks to me like Estevao Nunes, otherwise I agree with Cheri.

2.  Agree with previous posts, but I see parents of bride as Joao Goncalves 
Borges and Luiza de Conceicao

3.  I think you have this correctly except the date, which I agree with 
Cheri as 24 Nov 1805.  Did you notice that it gives the bride's maternal 
grandparents also.  It looks like Thome Estevez Franco and Josefa Maria.

I have listed below three marriage records from Altares, Terceira marriage 
records for which I would like to request a little help with:

1.  Antonio Coelho de Mello and Maria de Conceicao 1787 (cannot read 
day/month)
 Antonio filho de Coelho de Mello and Beatriz dos Anjos?
 Maria filha de Manoel ?? chio? and ?? Antonia

Am I reading Sebastiao's surname correct as de Barcellos??

One thing to remember for pre-1800 obito records, is that they are often not 
accurate and can be off by more than 10 years. The church did not consider the 
age at death that important and so the priests wrote, "mais ou menos." That is, 
more or less.

In my experience, the correct  age at death is seldom correct for the pre-1800 
records. However, it still very useful to determine an approximate baptismal 
date.

It sounds as if the church goes back to the late 1400s. Almost 150 years before 
the records.

This description from Guido de Monterey's "Santa Maria e Sao Miguel: As Duas 
Ilhas do Oriente" (page 191) seems to be similar to what Wikipedia says:
Anterior a 1522. Sofreu obras no decurso dos séculos XVII e XVIII. Todavia, a 
maior e mais flagrante reconstrução deu-se no final do século XVIII. 
Apresentou-se pronta no ano de 1812. Templo de consideráveis dimensões, corpo 
principal de tres naves. Capela-mor plena de graciosidade. Altar-mor extasiante 
pela valia da sua talha, ora dourada, ora pintada a azul. Igreja ataviada e 
augusta, centro do total arrebatamento.

I did not find your Manuel da Costa Carreiro married to Isabel da Costa in any 
volume of Rodrigo Rodrigues either.  I'm guess the Maia books were missing 
during Rodrigo Rodrigues' lifetime too.

Hello cousin! I think I found the birth record for your José Tavares in 
Rabo de Peixe.
Top left, 1st record:

1 jun 1678, José son of Francisco Tavares, single, the son of Francisco 
Pires, deceased; and Maria Fernandes Navarro, single. Godparents: João de 
Sousa Vieira and Bárbara da Silva, midwife.

That's very interesting, it's the third line we are connected to. I also 
descend from Maria Fernandes Navarro! Can you believe it? She married 
Antonio Pereira in Rabo de Peixe on 26 feb 1693 - CCA #50, but 
unfortunately the record doesn´t mention their parents.

I think it's possible that your Francisco Tavares was born in Rabo de Peixe 
on 6 nov 1639 - CCA #80 and was the son of Francisco Pires and Isabel 
Cabral married in Rabo de Peixe on 15 nov 1634 - CCA #27.  Francisco Pires 
was the son of Antonio Dias and Isabel Nunes. Isabel Cabral was the 
daughter of Baltazar Tavares and Maria da Silva.
This Francisco is the only one that was born in Rabo de Peixe before 1662 
until 1639 that had a father named Francisco Pires.
