Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Catholic Church Records

2017-06-11 Thread Google User
I know Philadelphia is very low on funding, and most of their immigrants
were non Catholics esp during war times.
Also, Boston New England Historical Society is really helpful if and when
you have any questions.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Travel to Pico in August

2017-06-09 Thread Google User
Have any of you already been to Pico?

I have an old buddy who went and said you have to take another boat or a
small plane from San Miguel. If so, would it be in my best interest to rent
a vehicle when there, hire a driver, or bring a folding bike to get around
( I'm an avid biker and can deal with rolling hills a plenty )

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] History of Azorean Surames Resources

Isn't THAT The truth!

Medeiros comes from the terms Medeiro or Madeira I know one has to do with
picking/husking (maize) corn or the area of picking maize, which would
typically suggest they were maize/corn farmers. However, Madeira is a
region and a form of wine, isn't it?

Hi Andrew,

You should google that exact phrase
Surname and their origin. Several sites will come up and aid you in your
search.
