Was there any follow-up article?
Also, my Mom had never read the obituary for her grandmother Anna. She was 
very appreciative of your efforts :-)

They had 2 daughters: Margaret (my grandmother) and Evlin/Evelyn(?). I 
believe that at least one daughter was born in Nevada.

They married in the US. My Dad is the historian, this is my Mom's side.

Here's what I learned from my Dad:
"Antonio Goncalves b. Jan 8, 1877, Flores, m. Anna Diogo b. June 18, 1877, 
Flores. Came to the US around 1902. Eventually moving to Carson City area 
of Nevada where two children were born. Moved to Oakland abt. 1920. Antonio 
died 1936, Anna in 1938. Both buried in Contra Costa County, CA."
I'm searching for the birth certificate/record of Antonio Goncalves to help 
my Mom apply for Portuguese citizenship.

As a side note, the absolutely gorgeous handwriting in some of these

Family lore says Flores island. I indicated that in my original message. I 
don't know the parish, that's true. Please look at the attachment when you

I'm helping my Mom to locate information on her grandfather, Antonio 
Goncalves, who was born Jan 8th, 1877 in the Azores (we believe he was born 
on Ilha Flores but are not 100% sure). I've requested the baptism records 
for the Igreja Católica. Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Santa Cruz das Flores,

know these documents can be difficult to read (especially since I don't
