It looks like Joaquim jose Dias and his son Jacintho Dias were the
testemunhas (witnesses), whose signatures are shown in the end.

I have found a baptismal record I can understand most of it I think. I
need help with the information concerning the Padrinho (Godfather). I
understand the godfather is the paternal grandfather. It is the information
after that which I don't understand. I am hoping a kind person will help me
once again. Oh how I wish I could read Portuguese! I have been trying to
read these documents for years. You would think I would get better! I can
usually read the dates get most of the information I am looking for but
then they go throw in some things I don't understand.
This is what I think this record tells me:
Filomeno, son of Francisco Jose Pacheco Victoria Cherubina, both from
Senhora da Conceicao Parish in Ribeira Grande. Born 7 Jan 1845, baptized 23
Jan 1845.
Godfather Joao Jacintho Pacheco, paternal grandfather..(this is
where I get lost)
I don't understand who Joaquim jose Dias is. It looks like the work
mother is before his name.And then there is Jacintho Dias. I'm lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
