In the Portuguese Paleograph, Homem is listed as a surname. In the
Portuguese dictionary, it is listed also as a noun meaning "male, human
being,human race, mankind and many more!!

I was able finally confirm that it was him...and after going through the 
baptismal records for a FIFTH time (my eyes are BAD)...I found him.

His parents were Jose Alelandre Homem aned Maria Candida of Fontinhas.

I thought you were referring to Azorean marriages. The marriages you cite
are from the United States. Family Search has United States marriages,
marriage records, marriage indices for various countries, but not the
Azores. Those are on the CCA. Nevermind, I misunderstood.

Their marriage record can be viewed at Familysearch.org. The marriage date is 
correct...he is 27 and Anna Amelia is 22 ... It shows they were married in So. 
Dartmouth. His father and mother shown as Jose and Mary Candidai.

Mary Alexander Homen married Frank Coelho Mello on April 16, 1932. They were 
both living in Artesia, Ca. 

As you know In 1920 they came back to No. Dartmouth to his father-in-law, 
Francisco R. Tristao. 

According to his WW1 draft record DOB was June 6, 1881 and was living at Cross 
Road, Box 47, No. Dartmouth. 

I have Homem's in my tree also from Terceira. I'm trying to see if our families 
connect. They also came to Mass and some also went to California.

P.S. There is a Private Tree on Ancestry that has records and pics of Anna 
Amelia Patrocinio Rocha Tristao, Francisco Homem and family. It's called 
Ileana's Family Tree and member name is IleanaTavares72

Wondering if anyone recognizes this person or has them in their tree.

Francisco Alexander Homem of Fontinhas, Terceira.  

Per his widows (Ana Emilia Patricina/o Homem) naturalization record he was 
born June 5, 1881 in Fontinhas.  Think I may have found him; but can't 
prove it.

I know (also per Ana's record referenced above) they were married August 
23, 1908 in New Bedford, MA (haven't been able to find the record though).

in 1920 the are found returning from Teceira with their two children at the 
time Maria and Francsico.  He left behind his mother C. Homem.

in 1929 they are again found returning from Terceira with three chidren, 
Maria, Francisco and Evelyn.  Francisco names his mother as maria C. Homem 
of Fontinhas and a brother Joao A. Homem also of Fontinhas.  

In 1930, they are found living in Downey, Los Angeles, CA

Frank Homen, 50
Anna 35 (she gets younger all the time...)
Mary 19
Frank 18
Evelyn 5
