My great grandfather, whose baptism certificate some people here helped to 
translate (thanks so much!!), was born in 1845 and moved to Brazil in 1858 
(jan, 2nd at the Novo Rival ship). By this time he was 12 years old. The 
story according to some of my family members is that the 12 year old boy 
came alone to Brazil. The passport shows the age of 12 but it was issue 
with his father's name (Antonio Martins d'Azara). Has anyone seen this 
happening before? I am wondering if that used to happen if the person was 
under 18...

We still have the original passport in hands and it shows exactly the same 
info as the one in this book at the link.
