No, its a proper name. You mostly see the feminine version, which is 
Leocadia.

I remember too that was  discussion about it being rare for children to be 
baptized with two name - I'll say this, Rabo de Peixe is the exception - 
they're "all over the place" with double names at baptism.  Over a span of 3-4 
pages there were at least 3-4 with double names.

times thinking it had to be Arruda; but no; it was Armada).
