There are a few of us going to the conference.

I don't know if you already posted what you are looking for about

I found this in my old mail and was wondering (besides Jacki) how more ppl
in this group will be attending this? If I can pull it off with such
lateness...I hope to go. Have some fau family members that live near by the
fairgrounds ~ just have to check into the cost to fly there! If anything it
puts me close to the ARCHIVES in the area where my grandmother lived!!
(Ermelinda my mystery women) She truly exsisted in that area, lived in many
of the towns ~ but for the life of me can not find her on any type of
census, directory or anything else!!

To those that are attended best of luck with your search

OK, Eric, you will not have to wear a scarf.  How about a purple feather in

Celeste,

No, I have another obligation.

At genealogy shows, I'm kind of obnoxious (as others can tell you).  I've worn
costumes, band uniforms, or taken one of those little desk flags and put my
hair up in the clip and put the flag in it.  I also have a name badge from the
So. Cal Gen Society with dangles on it listing about 4 of my freguesias.

If I remember right, the first time I met you, I told you what the band
uniforms looked like and you found the band director.  I had changed clothes
(that's why you couldn't find me) and the director came up to me and said there
was a woman with a straw hat over by some trees with an index card that read
AZORES GENEALOGY or whatever you had written! LOL

If only a few people wore scarves though, everyone else could be looking for
the scarf people or meeting up afterwards at Eric's store.

Repost for Ava, netadosAcores at aol.com

Hi Celeste,

I'v been enjoying the chit chat of whose registered and how are we going to
meet. What I missed out on is what conference and I take it that it is in
Pleasanton.

The Anselmo's from Soa Miguel had our first reunion in Pleasanton as that
is where our family ended up, all nine brothers and a sister. We had 6
cousins come. And for some of us it was the first time meeting one another.

Anyway, I'm in Utah, so I doubt that I could make it. But would you send
me info on When/Where and web site just in case I would be able to attend.

Thanks

Ava

Perhaps if we designated one person as the person we would all meet up with it
would be easier to connect. My memory isn't so good anymore so remembering what

2010-08-20 Thread Jacki G
Tracy,

I don't have much information on the Azevedos in my family either. My great
grandmother married Manuel Azevedo in Oakland, CA. I know he was born in the
Azores in 1883 but I don't know what island. They are both buried in
Manteca. I haven't spent too much time on this line yet. First, because he
was my step-great grandfather and my aunt who was his youngest
daughter-in-law doesn't remember much about his family. And second, I'm
working one line at a time and I'm not there yet. It's possible that they
could be brothers.

I registered for the weekend so I will defintitely be there. Hopefully, I
will see you there.
