Hi Sam, The connection must be Dona Maria do Santo Antonio (Resendes) because I don't know of a direct connection to this Figueiredo familyI descend from her prior marriage to Capitao Mauricio de Sousa Meneses, through their son, Capitao Joam Moreira de Meneses, born April 8, 1716 in Santa Barbara.perhaps there are cousin marriages I don't know about that connect the children of her 1st and 2nd husbandsI had that with Africa Anes. I have my 3rd great grandfather; Joam Soares de Figueiredo married to a Francisca Jacinta de Resendes. I have from Santa Maria island: Anna de Moura, born in Sao Pedro, Santa Maria, Azores She died 29 Dec 1737, in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores. She was married to: Manoel de Mello, born about 1648, in Sao Pedro, Santa Maria, Azores. He died 28 Dec 1728, In Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores. I descend from their daughter Maria de Mello, born about 1689, in Sao Pedro, Santa Maria, Azores. Maria was their first child that I found. Maria probably died after 14 Dec 1734, in Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel, Azores. I haven't found her death info yet. I tried looking at the film for Sao Pedro, Santa Maria, but couldn't find anything as the pages look like confetti. Tomas, I don't have the answer! Maybe because it's a large parish the people doing the extracting are having a hard time finishing?? LOL Who knows, hopefully one day it will be added. Sometimes shortcuts are good and sometimes you just have to slog through the records page-by-page. One thing I have learned since I began looking at the records in 1989, nothing takes the place of your own searching. It's not easy but once you have done the page-by-page, you feel that you have accomplished something even if it's a negative result! Great, Brenda, you should be able to trace family in Faial on the site. I must warn you though, take the info that is presented and confirm it yourself by checking the CCA documents. There are many errors on the site but you can use it as a guide and verify eveything. When the page loads, click on genealogies (left side of ribbon) the next page will give you the different concelhos of Pico and Faial and ONE village on Sao Jorge: Ribeira Seca. You can click on the village you are interested in and when the search page loads, click on the British flag for English.
