Nor in an Old Christian context for that matter. I imagine that there would be some kind of converso connection, depending on when and where it was found. It seems to be relativly common Portuguese surname. I put it in the Immigration search for Ancestry and got over 20 returns. Hi, I thought David was originally a Jewish name since in the Bible he killed Goliath and eventually became king. He was also the father of Solomon. I think this predates Welsh history.
