They are using the acronym CITCEM-GHP.  Clicking on the links shows you
their header which says:
Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar Cultura, Espaço, e Memória. Grupo
de História das Populações.
Google translator says:

I don't remember what the CCA was before, but when they changed their
acronym, I asked and they said to refer to them as the CCA.  Don't know

I'm not sure, but something is saying in the back of my head that it's from the 
original records.  They omitted the out-of-wedlock babies and unwed mothers 
(strange for a sociology study, as those people are part of society).  Others 
have mentioned things such as the ancestor is named Manuel do Rego one time and 
Manuel Barboza another time, so they just morph him together and he becomes 
Manuel do Rego Barboza (no, I don't have this ancestor and I completely made up 
that name).


People from this list have submitted corrections to the NEPS or CITCEM 
database.  Guess they are changing their name/acronym.

Robert, I also have a relationship with your ancestors. Your ancestor Roque 
Faria Costa is in the Madalena/PICO DB and his relationship to my 
ggrandfather Joao Andrade Macedo  is easy to see.
The Lajes relatioship is slightly more difficult to pin down but  my 
ancestors are definetly related to your although i need to work more to 
sort it out.

In looking at your attachments, I see where we are related.  Tomas
Francisco Avila would be my paternal grandmother's great-grandfather.  His
son Joaquim Francisco Avila married Maria Conceicao.  Their daughter Maria
Conceicao Macedo married Antonio Joaquim Brum Silveira.  Their daughter,
Jacinta, is my grandmother.

Also, the other relation is Antonio Goulart Rosa and Maria Piedade.  Their
son Manuel Inacio da Rosa Goulart married to Maria de Brum.  Their daughter
Maria Brum married to Jose Pereira Caxeta.  Their son Manuel Pereira Caxeta
married to Maria Silveira.  Their daughter Maria Vicencia Nascimento
married to Joaquim Sousa Bettencourt.  Their son Manuel Joaquim de Souza is
my grandfather.

This is great!  I finally got back to this and found the connection!

with no problems. You might include a little more detail about what sort of

Carol,  Thanks for responding.  Glad to know the NEPS problem isn't something 
with my computer, but disappointed NEPS is down.  Fingers crossed that they are

I was able to access Madalena but not Lages do Pico. My guess is that they are 
doing maintenance or adding data to the Lages database. Try again tomorrow ?
