Hi JR and others.

Just a little note for the life story of Manuel Álvares Tracunas. At the 
begining I thougt it would be travassos…

I found a Manoel Alvares Tracunas paying fees/taxes to the Royal Portuguese 
tresor in 1634, Island of S. Miguel. He paid a fee/tax (dizímo or miúnça) for 
sugar and honey (10$000 Reis), for fodder he paid 55 moios of wheat (sort of 
unit of weight)… in Archivo dos Açores, 12º Volume, Ponta Delgada, 1892.

I think the godparent is Gaspar Pacheco filho de Bento da Fonseca.

Bento da Fonseca [de Arruda] married Bárbara Correia Raposo. He is in the RR's 
book, chapter 4, §12, N. 3

 

I didn´t find yet the marriage of Manuel Raposo and Luzia Carvalho in MVFC and 
I think it's possible that we can link them to RR's book.

 

Sebastião de Arruda and his sister Luzia Carvalho, residents of Arrifes, 
freguesia of São Mateus de Ponta Delgada, appear as Teresa's godparents. 

Teresa, the daughter of Manuel da Costa [Carvalho] and Margarida da Costa, was 
born in MVFC on 15 sept 1709 - CCA #249.

 

In the baptism of Francisca on 3 nov 1710 - CCA #9 the godparent is Sebastião 
de Arruda, single, native of the freguesia de São Mateus, Ponta Delgada.
