Hi! The old village where the FERREIRA family house is nowadays goes by the name of Herrera de Rupisverga in Spain. It looks like the old name was HERRERA. Yes, I see Ferro as a surname in Flores records. Usually a combined form of Paulo Ferro, or as Valadao Ferro . It means* iron*, so may have started as an* alcunha *for a strong person, a dark and grayish person, or a rusty colored one.
