Most likely this Maria died. I noticed the small cross under her name in the
margins and have seen this used before to indicate the child died.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Anyone care to guess a name?

2016-02-12 Thread JR

Maria, bap, Nov 7- 1897, NS. Ajuda, Bretanha, Maria, born- 8 am, Oct 24, of
same year, filha legitima primeiro de nome do Florianno Alves de Viveiros?
Cantoneiro?

Look for other baptisms, because Maria is first of her name. The other
relatives that Aaron mentions are in their late sixty's, which is a
generation removed. It could be they married in Brazil, so your best bet
after looking for more baptisms is to focus on the grandparents who, if
they are related, appear to be from Sao Pedro, Ponta Delgada.

2016-02-12 Thread Aaron Pereira
I believe its Viveiros...see this record, which is most likely a marriage of
Floriano's brother:
Manuel Alves do Viveiros, first entry on the left page. The paternal
grandparents of Maria are Manuel Jose da Camara? and Maria Ricarda. The
parents of this Manuel are the same. I think you're on the right track.

I definitely see Florianno Alves decertainly could be Viveiros but I
couldn't make it out for certain.
