[backstage] [ANN] XTech WebDev London, 31 October 2006

2006-09-15 Thread Edd Dumbill
Wanted to let folks on this list know of an event that should be of
interest to them, a one-day web developer training day in London this
October called XTech WebDev.

http://webdev.xtech.org/

Topics: Ajax, REST, Ruby on Rails, building with web standards.
Keynote: Tom Coates of Yahoo!
Speakers: Andy Budd, Jeremy Keith, Leigh Dodds, Matt Biddulph, Edd
Dumbill.

Date: 31 October 2006
Venue: London Art House

More details at http://webdev.xtech.org/
Registrations before 23 September get a £50 discount.

cheers

-- Edd

PS. The backstory here is that after XTech I wanted to do an
additional smaller event that was easier for developers to get to,
and which helped promote new thinking and best practice in web
development. This is the first such venture. All feedback and
suggestions more than welcome!

Particulary handy if you couldn't make it too :)

Like the 'Joy of the API' guys talk so far. Quit motivating.

Honestly, it was the best talk of the conference.

Damn batteries! That's a shame.

Jeremy Keith is always worth watching or talking to. I saw a couple of
talks by him before he started speaking professionally and he's so
enthusiastic and interesting about what he's in to it's almost
impossible not to catch the same bug.

Cheers

Do you have any more of the Derek Featherstone talk? The video up there just
seems to be the first few minutes of the talk.

Thanks for doing those, even though I was there it's very handy to have a
reminder.

Nope sorry, my battery ran out and I couldn't just pop out get the one on
charge outside. :) I think I might have a audio version somewhere.
