[backstage] iPlayer mashup

2008-04-07 Thread Andrew Shearer
Hi,

I'm a lurker on this list but thought I would de-lurk to show you
all what I've been up to with the stuff found around bbc.co.uk. Over
a few days hacking with ruby I built a lighter version of the flash
based iPlayer with series grouping, some rss feeds and related content
from blogs and youtube.

http://iplayerlist.mibly.com

Its rough and ready but I'm happy with the results. If you are
interested, a little more info about what is holding it altogether is
available over here.

Andy

Re: [backstage] iPlayer in Wii

2008-04-10 Thread Andrew Shearer
Damned fine link Derek.

Although I don't have a Wii yet, I've hacked up iPlayerlist to have a
Wii only templates. Its in the early stages, but you might want to
give it a try.

Thanks to Sean Lange, who suggested adding a pure black background for
those on TVs where the iPlayer flash video doesn't fill the entire
screen. Apparently there is an issue with the Auto-zoom, but Ill work
on that when I get my hands on one of those blessed machines.

Just point the Wii at http://iplayerlist.mibly.com or switch you user
agent to a Wii one ;)

Regards,
Andy

Re: [backstage] iPlayer mashup

2008-04-11 Thread Andrew Shearer
Ok .. an iFrame with the width and height set to "0". The quicktime
video is displayed on the top, (display:none hides the quicktime vid).

Very very icky but seems to work fine and is live now (with a slightly
modified interface).

Andy
