As has been stated, there are other places on the Net to discuss almost any topic. While a more sophisticated forum would facilitate more in-depth discussion, that's not really what the News website is for. But it is recognised that it can be very satisfying to see other people's opinions (i.e. stand-alone comments) about some stories, and that's what Have Your Say is for.
