RE: [backstage] *new* Backstage supremo

2006-08-28 Thread Mr I Forrester

Hi All,

Thanks to everyone... and specially Jem for the mailing list
announcement.
I had hoped to have emailed the list about the same time as my blog
post, but with holidays and external subscription issues (yeah not a
Majordomo fan either) I've only been able to email today.

So I'm really looking forward to heading up backstage.bbc.co.uk and of
course working with you guys. I've been a fan of Backstage since the
early days of my employment at the BBC and was actually part of the
internal Backstage Beta about a year ago (missed the official 1st
anniversary of Backstage [1]).
Like in my blog post [2], I'm bursting with different ideas of where
backstage could go and do to improve not only the amount of APIs and
Feeds, but also improve general awareness of backstage and take some of
your prototypes on to the next stage.

I'm also very aware that Backstage shouldn't exist by itself, its part
of the BBC's open strategy. BBC Innovation Labs [3] and Creative
Archive [4] are also part of the same strategy. And although we're all
slightly different our overarching aim is the same. Open the BBC to the
people who really make the BBC what it is, you! Everyone benefits.

Anyway, hope to speak to a few of you at the BarCampLondon [5] or a
Geekdinner [6] soon.

Looking forward to working with you all...
