[BackupPC-users] looking for some help on archives

2008-11-12 Thread dan
archive is a very nice touch on backuppc but it is missing a big detail.
You cannot select the backup number that you want to archive off!

Can anyone help me add a selection box for this? I am no good with cgi
scripts and have looked through the code and im stumped.

btw, this box is ubuntu 7.04 w/ backuppc 3.0 from apt.

Re: [BackupPC-users] tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

2008-11-12 Thread Leandro Tracchia
well i managed to downgrade smbclient to 3.0.28a while still having
backuppc 3.1 installed. once i did this the backup ran with no
problems. keep in mind my configuation file never changed...

is there anyone running 3.1 with samba 3.2.3 without problems???

i have 2 backuppc servers running.

server #1 is using backuppc version 3.0.0 and smbclient 3.0.28a
server #2 is using backuppc version 3.1.0 and smbclient 3.2.3

server #2 is a new build and i have yet to get backuppc working
properly on server #2. both servers are backing up the same client. i
copied the config.pl file from server #1 to server #2 but backuppc on
server #2 always fails (server #1 has been running for about 1 year
with no problems). i also copied over the smb.conf file. these two
servers are supposed to be doing exactly the same thing. the only
difference between them is the versions of backuppc and smbclient. by
the way, i can log in to the client through smbclient on the shell
 just fine from server #2.

here is my XferLog from server #2. one thing i don't understand from
the log is the anonymous login. why is there an anonymous login if
there is a password specifed in config.pl??? anyway, can anyone tell
me what is happening here?? should i downgrade the versions??

Re: [BackupPC-users] upgrading backuppc 3.0 to 3.1

2008-11-12 Thread Nils Breunese (Lemonbit)

And why is BackupPC stil on 3.0 in the Ubuntu repositories?

According to http://packages.ubuntu.com/backuppc Ubuntu 8.10 has
3.1.0. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS has 3.0.0. Generally distributions don't do
version upgrades during the lifetime of a release.

Who is maintaining BackupPC on Ubuntu?

You can probably ask your package manager (I don't run Ubuntu). Looks
like it's 'Ubuntu Core Developers'.

[BackupPC-users] Different TopDir for different clients.

2008-11-12 Thread Oz Dror
I am sure that it was asked before, but I was not able to find
satisfying answer on the net.

1. How can I have different TopDir assigned to different client computers.
2. How can I have different backup schedules for the same PC client.

-thanks
Oz
