Hi Dear all,

I configured Backuppc in ubuntu 10.10. After configuration i add one host is 
pacews261 and ip is 192.168.1.41 all are dhcp systems, xfer method is smb 

When i entered to BackupPC terminal i got this error  i pick the browse backups 
 i found this error how to solve this problem,

just check my screen shot

Not saving this as a partial backup since it has fewer files than the prior one 
(got 0 and 0 files versus 2)

And I don't remember seeing where you tried to connect
to that share from a remote Windows box:  do you get an error there,
too?



For example: from any Windows machine Command Prompt
(besides the W2K3 server itself) on the network:



NET USE Z: \\SERVER\SHARE
/USER:USERNAME



Then it will prompt you for the password.  Type
it in.  If it connects and you can then see files on the Z: drive,
then your permissions are correct on the W2K3 server.  If you get
an error, then the problem is with the permissions on the server, and nothing
to do with Samba/BackupPC.



One last thing:  depending on the version of
Samba you have and the security settings on your W2K3 server, there can
be all kinds of conflicts:  e.g. Samba is using a different (lower)
authentication mechanism than the W2K3 will accept.  This is far worse
(and more common) between Vista/7/W2K8/R2 and Samba, but it is still easily
possible with W2K3.

How to check witch location stored in backup files and directory's how to check 
the path  and one more thing some system are creating backup structure 

and some system are not creating the structure error is

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to backup only one dir on a Windows 
box. I followed many instructions, which were pretty much the same and have not 
accomplished anything. I simply choose smb as xfer method and then made the 
smbsharename c$ and added  under backupfilesony \temp as a test…Errors are 
either no files exist or it backsup the whole c drive… can someone please point 
me to some working docs about backing up windows boxes? All my linux boxes work 
like a charm.. Here is my config file for the PC in question 
$Conf{SmbShareName} = [  'c$'];$Conf{BackupFilesOnly} = {  'c$' => [
