[BackupPC-users] Rsyncd and WinXP

2009-05-01 Thread Peter Bloomfield
Dear All,

I apologise for re-visiting this, but I am having difficulty backing up a WinXP
machine over rync.

I am using Backuppc version 3.1.0, and cygwin's rsync on the WinXP box.

When I issue a fuill backup, I get the following message in backuppc

Executing DumpPostUserCmd: /home/backuppc/Bin/NotifyUsers -h -u
*...@ -m ** -c 0 -t full -s hr_info
Got fatal error during xfer (chdir failed)
Backup aborted (chdir failed)

I have blanked out the email address, host and user for this email. I then went
and looked on the WinXP
in the rsync.log file and I get the following message,

2009/05/01 16:39:23 [4024] rsync: chdir
/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32/f:/Alvina_PET/HR_Info failed

Has anyone else seen this, or can someone point me in the direction of a
solution, thanks

Peter

[BackupPC-users] cygrunsrv and Vista - Access Denied

2009-07-13 Thread Peter Bloomfield
Hi,

I am trying to get a Vista box added to the computers backed up by BackupPC and
I am
failing when trying to add the rsyncd service at the windows end.

I keep getting an 'Access Denied' using the cygrunsrv.exe. In fact, simply
listing services using cygrunsrv
results in the following,

c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'DcomLaunch':
Win32 error 5
Access is denied.
c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'odserv':
Win32 error 5
Access is denied.
c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'ose': Win32
error 5
Access is denied.
c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'pla': Win32
error 5
Access is denied.
c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'QWAVE': Win32
error 5
Access is denied.
c:/cygwin/bin/cygrunsrv: warning: OpenService failed for 'RpcSs': Win32
error 5
Access is denied.

The user issuing the cygrunsrv.exe command has administrator privileges. Any
suggestions/thoughts will
be most appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

Re: [BackupPC-users] cygrunsrv and Vista - Access Denied

2009-07-15 Thread Peter Bloomfield
Hi,

I have managed to get the service installed via cygrunsrv.exe; thanks Cody for
pointing me in the correct direction.

In the end, rather than activating the 'hidden' Administrator account under
Vista, I ran the command tool with as Administrator.

For anyone else who hits this problem here is how I did it,
Select 'Properties' on the command tool icon, there is an option to run it as
Admistrator. At this point cygrunsrv.exe runs without any 'Access Denied'
errors.

In Vista this different to the user having administrator privleges and
executing cygrunsrv.exe from the normal command tool.

Hope this helps some else

Peter

[BackupPC-users] Backuppc V3.0.0

2007-01-30 Thread Peter Bloomfield

Dear All,

I upgraded Backuppc to version 3.0.0 from 2.1.3 yesterday, and since the update
I am getting a number of errors when trying to view some
of the pages. These are the errors I am seeing

Select current log files
Undefined subroutine &BackupPC::CGI::View::action called at
/var/www/cgi-bin/BackupPC/BackupPC_Admin line 109.

Select old log files
Can't locate object method "sortedPCLogFiles" via package "BackupPC::Lib" at
/usr/local/BackupPC/lib/BackupPC/CGI/LOGlist.pm line 59.

Select Host Configuration
Global symbol "$LogDir" requires explicit package name at
/usr/local/BackupPC/lib/BackupPC/CGI/View.pm line 100.
Compilation failed in require at /var/www/cgi-bin/BackupPC/BackupPC_Admin line
107.

Select Hosts File

/var/www/cgi-bin/BackupPC/BackupPC_Admin line 109.

Select Documentation
Undefined subroutine &BackupPC::CGI::View::action called at
/var/www/cgi-bin/BackupPC/BackupPC_Admin line 109.

I can back up machines, and the browse backups, but it is the above I have
messed up. Can anyone point me in the direction to
correct this,

Many thanks in advance

Peter

Restarting the httpd corrected it.

Thanks
