Can someone help a dumb n00b?
I am trying to install BackupPC for the first time. I have
done all the preliminary work, downloading and installing everything I need to
run BackupPC on my Solaris 9 box. The BackupPC documentation says to next
untar the BackpuPC-2.1.2, then apply any patch that’s available.
This is where I get stuck. I follow the documentation to a T, it says:
--
tar xvf BackupPC-2.1.2.tar.gz
cd BackupPC-2.1.2
patch p0 < ../BackupPC-2.1.2pl1.diff
--
When I type in the patch command, it then asks me which
file to patch. I would imagine it’s the configure.pl file that I
should put in here, so I type that in. After I do that, I get errors like
crazy.

Am I doing something completely wrong with my patching
technique? I’m a former windoze guy, so I’m use to just clicking “next”
to apply patches!
Thanks for any help anyone can give.
