Hello list members,

What will be restored if I have (and choose the most recent backup set):

1/ Full backup with, for example, three files :  a.txt, b.txt, c.txt and
directory /important

2/ User removes " c.txt", changes "a.txt" and "b.txt"

3/ Incremental Backup : saves new versions of "a.txt" and "b.txt"
without "c.txt"

4/ Restore : I read from the bacula documentation that the restore
function "automatically fills incremental backups with the corresponding
full backup". What does it means? It will restore the newest version of
a.txt and b.txt, directory /important and c.txt or only the newest
version of a.txt and b.txt  and directory /important?

As far as concern restore, BackupPc has very extraordinary.

You just go to the restore GIU and you can have history of the backup.

Let us say in your case

Day 1/ Full backup with, for example, three files :  a.txt, b.txt, c.txt and
directory /important

will create complete tree with all three file with a.txt, b.txt and c.txt

day 2/ User removes "c.txt", changes "a.txt" and "b.txt"

will give tree under /important a.txt and b.txt only

Day 3/ Incremental Backup : saves new versions of "a.txt" and "b.txt"
without "c.txt"

will give you a tree under /important newer a.txt and b.txt without c.txt

Now all three backups are available with the tag day1 day2 and day3.

So whate ever backup to be restore just select and restore it.

This is I consider 3 days backup.

Thank you
