I just installed backuppc on debian box with apt-get install backuppc.
It installed version 2.x.x.. Test it thourgh webinterface and it worked

Then I decided to upgrade to latest stable release. From here everything
 went down..
 Backuppc does not work.

Did you upgrade from the tarball on SourceForge, or using apt-get?

The Debian package uses different hard-coded paths to
BackupPC-3.0.0.tar.gz. So you can't easily upgrade from the
Debian package to the vanilla source release. There has been some
discussion on the email list of the extra manual steps you need
to make it work.

SourceForge tarbal :) And had problems with paths... Now I'm afraid to
upgrade :)

I'll check archive mailing list for upgradeing from tarbal...
