Try to link the file manually unsing ln, e.g.

ln /data/backupPC/pc/myserver.synacor.com/0/.../fpie4.png \
/data/BackupPC/pool/1/8/5/1865e910e7006cf8fe937c20dae17883

and look whether you get an error. What filesystem is /data/BackupPC on?
