Re: [Bacula-users] concurrent VSS jobs on the same unit

2016-03-03 Thread Kern Sibbald
Yes, one Windows FD job at a time is a bacula windows limitation and not
a Windows limitation. Bacula Systems is currently developing code to
remove this restriction and when it is done I will attempt to make it
available to the community.

Best regards,
Kern

Hello,

The result from mtx:

mtx: Request Sense: Additional Sense Code = 30
mtx: Request Sense: Additional Sense Qualifier = 00

Says that you have a problem with your medium (tape TO1594L3): INCOMPATIBLE
MEDIUM INSTALLED. Maybe a corrupted medium.

Have you tried to use this medium in another slot? Do this happen with
other tapes?

Best regards,
Ana

Re: [Bacula-users] No compression?

2016-03-03 Thread Ana Emília M . Arruda
Hello,

On Ubuntu, you can check if you have zlib packages installed: "apt
--installed list | grep zlib" or "dpkg -l | grep zlib". It seems that on an
Ubuntu fresh install the zlib dev package is not installed. You can apt-get
install zlib1g-dev and after that, I'm quite sure compression will work.

Best regards,
Ana

Re: [Bacula-users] Do TLS options work without openssl configuration during installation?

2016-03-03 Thread Alex Domoradov
But at the same time it seems that openssl enabled by default at least if
the bacula can find headers and libraries

# ./configure --prefix=/opt/bacula-7.4.0 --with-postgresql=/usr/pgsql-9.4/
--with-mysql --enable-acl --with-tcp-wrappers --with-sqlite3
...

   Large file support: yes
   Bacula conio support: yes -ltinfo
   readline support: no
   TCP Wrappers support: yes -lwrap
*   TLS support:  yes*
   Encryption support: yes
   ZLIB support: yes
   LZO support: yes

So I think you should use option --with-openssl only if you have installed
openssl from source

AFAIK it wouldn't work

a binary file must be linked with openssl

# ldd bacula-dir | grep ssl
libssl.so.10 => /usr/lib64/libssl.so.10 (0x7f3a83283000)
libssl3.so => /usr/lib64/libssl3.so (0x7f3a80089000)

[Bacula-users] Do TLS options work without openssl configuration during installation?

2016-03-03 Thread Florian Splett
Hello.

I want to set up TLS security for my bacula system, but when I first
installed the system, I did not specify the "--with-openssl" option.
Will the TLS configuration still work? The entries in the config were
definitely recognized.

I just want to be sure this doesn't end up accepting the configuration,
but not actually securing anything,
so any answer would be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Florian S.

[Bacula-users] concurrent VSS jobs on the same unit

2016-03-03 Thread Davide Giunchi - Diennea
Hi,
If i run two concurrent jobs on the same windows 2012 client with VSS enabled
on the same windows unit, i get the second job waiting for the first job to
finish.
It's a VSS related issue, because bacula show the two jobs as "running" but the
second job is not doing anything. When the first job finish, the second job
create the vss:

Generate VSS snapshots. Driver="Win64 VSS"
Snapshot mount point: E:\

and then it really start.

Arno discussed the same problem in 2008
https://adsm.org/lists/html/Bacula-users/2008-04/msg00140.html
"VSS might prevent that, though. I'm not sure, but I believe it's not so
useful to try and create several VSS snapshots of one volume at the same time."
and in 2014 at the bacula conference
http://www.baculaconference.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Arno-Lehmann.pdf on
page 8, about improvements to be made on windows client:
"More than one VSS job concurrently"

So it's a bacula-windows fd limitation and not a windows one?
bacula-fd actually can handle only one vss snapshot at the same time?

Thank you
Regards
