HP 1/8 LTO-6 FC Autoloader.

8 slots, 1 drive, and using Fibre-channel connects.

Runs like a screaming meemy without needing such fripperies as SSD spool
disks or vast amounts of RAM. On a now elderly Fujitsu TX-150 with 8Gb
of RAM running Solaris 10. (Being moved to an RX-300 with 72Gb running
Solaris 11.3 over the next few months.)

Just a TS2240 tape drive. No changer or robots.

To answer, I had to look that up. I know it covers LTO, DLT and SDT.

> 2: Who on this list is NOT using a robot or changer device?

I have one external DLT 7000 tape drive, kept in reserve.

> 3: For the half inch tape formats, what are you using?

DLT IV - 292 tapes, kept for archive, will start disposal sometime.
SDLT - 166 tapes

(The above: not writing any new tapes, these are scheduled for disposal)

LTO 4 - 45 tapes

Digital DLT MiniLibrary (Model DS-TL891-NE)
http://www.freebsddiary.org/digital-tl891.php
10 slots - one DLT 7000, perhaps
two. I have a few spare DLT 7000 drives here

Compaq Storage Works MSL5026 Library
one SDLT tape drive: COMPAQ SuperDLT1 with 2 magazines for 30 slots (I think).

Dell PowerVault TL4000 - two LTO4 drives with 4 magazines for 48 slots

1.    I am NOT using a tape-based system, half-inch or otherwise.
Nightly backups are written to hard disk drives and then copied to a
cloud drive.

2. Likewise, I am NOT using a robot or changer.

I think I can answer all of those with one statement: I am using a
single stand-alone external LTO4 drive.

I can't realistically justify the cost of a newer drive or a robot. But
honestly, I'd prefer to get away from tape altogether, for reasons
including noise, media lifecycle, and environmental sensitivity.
