Re: [Bacula-users] Bacula backup from alternative datastore

2012-09-26 Thread Ana Romero
Hello schockwavecs, you have a name very dificult

Well, it this possible!, you have to install the agent bacula-fd in both NAS1
as NAS2, but the client in bacula-dir must have configured the cluster IP.

This is:

Client bacula-fd in NAS1

FileDaemon { # this is me
Name = nas01-fd
FDport = 9102 # where we listen for the director
WorkingDirectory = "C:\\Program Files\\Bacula\\working"
Pid Directory = "C:\\Program Files\\Bacula\\working"
Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 10
}
# List Directors who are permitted to contact this File daemon
#
Director {
Name = DIRECTOR-dir
Password = "x"

Client bacula-fd in NAS2

FileDaemon { # this is me
Name = nas02-fd
FDport = 9102 # where we listen for the director
WorkingDirectory = "C:\\Program Files\\Bacula\\working"
Pid Directory = "C:\\Program Files\\Bacula\\working"
Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 10
}
# List Directors who are permitted to contact this File daemon
#
Director {
Name = DIRECTOR-dir
Password = "x"

Client nas-fd in bacula-dir

Client {
Name = nas-fd
Address = nas.domain.local (or the cluster IP)
FDPort = 9102
Catalog = MyCatalog
Password = "x" # password for FileDaemon
AutoPrune = yes # Prune expired Jobs/Files
Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 10
}

Asunto: [Bacula-users] Bacula backup from alternative datastore

We have two NAS boxes that sync all data over DRBD. When NAS1 goes down I want
NAS2 to automatically become the system to backup to tape.

If NAS1 is up, then backup NAS1, else NAS2 becomes backup source for NAS1.

Is this possible? Any reason not to? DRBD is in master-slave config so data
should never be served from two places at once.

could schedule the first backup on first friday and add the queueing of
the other ones as RunAfterJob on the dir system as a bconsole command.

If it is not clear enough tell me and
I'll try to write a sample script.

I do not understand. See below my descriptions for your text from
previous mail.

Backup1 -> 7  September <== it is Friday (tomorrow)
Backup2 -> 1  September <== it is Saturday (past)
Backup3 -> 3  September <== it is Monday (past)

So could you explain us your need?

Maybe you are thinking about that this month has been started a week
ago. In this case, you can adjust your schedules for this month eg. by:

Schedule {
   Name = "SomeSchedule1"
   Run = Level=Full 2nd fri at 18:00
}

Schedule {
   Name = "SomeSchedule2"
   Run = Level=Full 2nd sat at 18:00
}

Schedule {
   Name = "SomeSchedule3"
   Run = Level=Full 2nd sun at 18:00
}

And in after this backups you can to set back your schedule on 1st days

of the month.

What do you think about that?

Regards.

I'm thinking you'll have to write your own complete schedule for e.g. a
whole year, as just like Geert says I don't think there's a specific
schedule statement that fits your requirements for all months.

Hi,

Maybe that for 1st Sunday of the month:

Schedule {
Name = "SomeSchedule"
Run = Level=Full 1st sun at 9:00
}

or that for Saturday and Sunday on the month:

Schedule {
Name = "SomeSchedule"
Run = Level=Full 1st sat-sun at 9:00
}

Here is more info about that:

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I think the schedule Gani proposed
does exactly what you want. It will always make a full backup on the 1st
Saturday (or the first Saturday and Sunday) of every month. The "1st" keyword
points to week-of-month when use like that as opposed to day-of-month you seem
to think.

To make full backups on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every month
just make it "Run = Level=Full 1st fri-sun at 9:00".

Re: [Bacula-users] Database error after bacula installation with postgresql

2012-08-20 Thread Ana Romero
Hola Andy

/etc/bacula# psql -U bacula bacula
psql (9.1.4)
Type "help" for help.

bacula=#

En el caso de no poder conectarte con el usuario bacula, es decir, te dará un
error de permiso denegado, tendrás que loguearte con el usuario postgres y
probar a acceder.

# psql -U bacula bacula
bacula =# alter user bacula with password '123456';

• En bacula-dir.conf

Catalog {
Name = MyCatalog
# Uncomment the following line if you want the dbi driver
# dbdriver = "dbi:sqlite3"; dbaddress = 127.0.0.1; dbport =
dbname = "bacula"; DB Address = ""; dbuser = "bacula"; dbpassword = "123456"
}

• Reinicia servicio bacula-director y prueba.

# Database administrative login by Unix domain socket
local all postgres trust
# TYPE DATABASE USER ADDRESS METHOD
# "local" is for Unix domain socket connections only
local all all trust
# IPv4 local connections:
host all all  md5
# IPv6 local connections:
host all all ::1/128 md5
# Allow replication connections from localhost, by a user with the
# replication privilege.
#local replication postgres peer
#host replication postgres 127.0.0.1/32 md5
#host replication postgres ::1/128 md5

Espero te sirva de ayuda.

Un saludo

Have you configured the postgres database?

can you connect to the postgres database called "bacula" with the username

it would seem that bacula doesn't seem to think it can.
