Re: [Bacula-users] cant run full backups

2012-08-23 Thread Tobias Dinse
I solved it. They where about 5-6 jobs with running state on a few
bacula filer daemons. After restarting the fd and the bacula-director
the problem was gone.

The Jobs are not displayed on the bacula-director.

Hi all,

since a few days I have a strange Problem with running Full Backups on
Debian 6 with Bacula 5.0.2-2.2.

All differential Backups are running fine. If I run an Full Job Bacula
says "using storage..." (same storage for diff backups) and hangs up
there. It puts no Media from Full / Scratchpool and do nothing
till the
max rune time is exceeded. The Configuration works fine for about
a year
without any changes in this time.

We are using external Hard Disks as an autochanger Device.

regards

Tobias

Ok, here are the parts of our Configuration Files.

Yes, that's better.

I think this can be caused by a mismatch between the Director or SD configs.

Can you post the Storage, Device and Autochanger sections from the
bacula-dir.conf and bacula-sd.conf?

Can you recompile bacula with debugging options (just set CFLAGS="-g" in the

Also, have you considered upgrading both Director and SD to 5.2.10?

The next step is to attach gdb to the bacula-sd process before it crashes and
then get backtraces with "thread apply all bt". You may need to recompile it
with debugging options (CFLAGS="-g").

I can label / mount all Volumes fine. But if I start an Backup Job the

[Bacula-users] st: from_buffer offset overflow. - I/O Error

2011-06-09 Thread Tobias Dinse
Hi,

one again we have a problem with this Kernel error:

st: from_buffer offset overflow.

in dmesg. This Error has the effect that Bacula cant access to the Tape
drive - reboot helps. Atm this Error comes all 2-3 days.

I´ve googled a lot but cant find nothing to fix that. It seems to be a
problem with the memory fragmentation or the scsi driver.

We use Debian Squeezy and the latest bacula release.

Any Idea?

Thanks & regards

Tobias

Example:

/dev/nst0 doesnt work because its a remote Storage.

If the tape exists on the remote device can't you add the remote
bacula-sd to the new director. Or am I missing something?

 Volume: MITT01

 Media type: LTO4
 Total Bytes=157,171,864,755 Blocks=78,625,244 Bytes/block=1,999
