[Bacula-users] Baucula retention policy is not working

2014-09-01 Thread Willi Fehler
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hello Bacula-Users,

I have a question. I've configured a job in Bacula with 8 days volume
retention. This job backups data from a DRBD-Cluster. The full backup
was running on the 23. August 12:00 pm.

The last incremental backup was running today 1:00 am but this job
wasn't deleting the full backup: 8days.FPC01-3186. On the 25. August
we had a failover to the standby server and the bacula-fd was reporting.

25-Aug 01:00 fpc-static1-fd JobId 30933: Could not stat
"/drbd/www/static/media/catalog": ERR=No such file or directory
Termination:Backup OK -- with warnings

That is normal because Bacula doesn't use the floating ip to backup
the data from the DRBD-Cluster. Anybody an idea why we have this
situation? From my point of view it looks like that this issue is
related to the failover.

Regards - Willi

[Bacula-users] Bacula backup Clusters

2014-05-23 Thread Willi Fehler
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Hello,

is there any possibility to do Bacula backup jobs only in case a
directory exists/is mounted?

We are using DRBD on a 2 node cluster. Usually the first node is
active and the backup job is running on this node. In case we have to
do a failover we don't have a backup. I created a job for the second
node but now we receive all the time warnings because the filesystem
is only mounted when the second node will be promoted to DRBD-Primary.

Re: [Bacula-users] Offsite Backup

2013-11-13 Thread Willi Fehler
Hi Gary,

thank you for your feedback.

The destination server has a different directory structure. And it's not
so easy to mount the directory in the same way.

source: /backup/bacula/
destination: /Backup/... (should be our offsite server)

Should I create a symlink?

The next question. On the destination server I need to exclude the jobs
to prevent errors on the director? I only need one file
daemon(localhost) to restore the files from backup?

Regards - Willi

Hello,

we want to copy the data of our main Bacula-Server to a addiontal Server
outside of our main datacenter in case the datacenter is down and we
still want to able to restore files.

Both Servers are running Debian 6.0 and MySQL as . At the moment Bacula

possibilities do I have?

Use rsync to keep the files in /etc/bacula/ and my backup directory
up2date and create a mysqldump and restore it every night on the offsite

[Bacula-users] Backup of many small files

2013-11-04 Thread Willi Fehler
Hi Bacula-Users,

we want to backup our central nas-server.

disk-usage: 885G
ca. 10 millionen small files

In the past the old it-colleges tried to use Bacula but the backup
crashes. Anybody have expirience with many small files and Bacula or
know a good alternative? I think if we try it again, we have to disable
compression.

The central nas server is a DRBD-Cluster(Primary/Secondary) on Debian
Squeezy with lvm/ext3 running on a Dell PowerEdge R710.

For any feedback, I thank you in advance.
