[Bacula-users] Incremental jobs upgraded to full backups

2011-02-03 Thread Win Htin
Hi folks,

Looking at last evening's backup reports, I noticed 3 incremental jobs
ran as full backups.
Since those 3 jobs are not newly created client jobs I am a bit
perplexed with the sudden change.

Following is the beginning of the messages from one of the backups.

02-Feb 23:00 backupserver-dir JobId 25712: No prior Full backup Job
record found.
02-Feb 23:00 backupserver-dir JobId 25712: No prior or suitable Full
backup found in catalog. Doing FULL backup.
02-Feb 23:00 backupserver-dir JobId 25712: Start Backup JobId 25712,
Job=MYSQLSRV.2011-02-02_23.00.25
02-Feb 23:00 backupserver-dir JobId 25712: Using Volume 040BCL from
'Scratch' pool.
.
.

Listing the individual jobs for one of the clients I see it dates back
to August of last year.

echo list jobname=MYSQLSRV | bconsole
Connecting to Director backupserver:9101
1000 OK: backupserver-dir Version: 2.2.6 (10 November 2007)
Enter a period to cancel a command.
list jobname=MYSQLSRV
Automatically selected Catalog: MYSQL

Any insight into what condition may have caused the incremental jobs
to be automatically changed to full backups? I am running Bacula
2.2.6.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Win

Maybe your full backups where pruned from the database before? Or did you
change the fileset of these jobs?

I haven't changed a single thing in ages for those 3 servers. I will
revisit the fileset settings for each server.

Win

A job will fallback from incremental to full level when there is no
full backup to compare to.
As Jan stated caused by pruning / retention times. Therefore take a
look at your retention
entries instead of your filesets.
