I installed using the Community Installation Guide with: Centos 7, Bacula 9.6.3 and Postgresql 9.2 The bconsole command returns to the shell immediately. [root@costello working]# sudo -u bacula ../bin/bconsole Connecting to Director costello:9101 [root@costello working]# And the director, running in the foreground shows: 13-May 11:23 bacula-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: Could not open Catalog "MyCatalog", database "bacula". 13-May 11:23 bacula-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: postgresql.c:332 Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server.
