Re: [Bacula-users] One Job, many clients... (I really need help with this!)

2010-02-28 Thread Kevin Keane
I have a guess that what you are really looking for is not for the three
clients to share one job, but rather one fileset.

You can't share jobs, but you can share file sets.

Basically, a job connects the file set with the client (and then says which
storage daemon to use, and all the other good things). So by definition you
can't have a single job for several clients.

But if all you want to do is back up the same files from each client, you
create three jobs that all use the same file set.

You can run multiple jobs with a destination of the same storage device
/ tape. Why specifically do you want to run multiple clients from one
job resource?

No, you can not create one job to back up many clients. You must define one
job for each client. These jobs may be run concurrently or sequentially.

Hi Joseph

Thanks for reply

When I say "many", I say different clients share some job...

I have tree PC that I need do a Full backup to one tape... This tape I
will be use for once a month..

So, how can I do to use this tape with various clients...

I hope this is clear now...

Thanks a lot

Gilberto,
How many is many? Create a job def, then reference it, so you only need to
change the single def.
