[Bacula-users] Schedule and Director question

2006-02-18 Thread Torsten Uhlmann

Hi
all,

my name is Torsten,
I'm new to the list.

I'm using Bacula
1.36.3-2 from the Ubuntu 5.10 dist.

I've installed
bacula and got it to work with a server and a laptop. Now my questions are
those:

1) Can I specify a
schedule that says: "Backup at 12:00 midnight OR THE NEXT POSSIBLE OCCASION"? My
notebook is not always connected to the server, so the backup is likely to fail
often if I specify a rigid date. Is this possible?
Might be obvious to
answer but I didn't find it in the manual explicitely...

2) >From the manual
and the tutorial I've learned that the Clients are instructed from the central
director. So the director (on the server) knows which directories and files it
should back up on connected clients.

Is it possible that
a client can add to this information, so that users can have a file on their
notebooks (or PC's) that lists additional ressources that should be saved to the
storage pool? I would not want to keep the information for all the clients in a
single place.

Thanks for your
help,

Torsten.
