When I see a 'Connection reset by peer' in my environment, it's
always turned out to be a firewall config that needs adjustment.

Re: [Bacula-users] Console oddity

2006-03-20 Thread Brennon Church
It's interesting... I had made a change to my firewall a few days ago,
and running a similar test today did not cause the first client to
disconnect. I'll have to test again when the person who had the first
computer I was testing with comes back. Hopefully it is simply a matter
of the firewall modification. In this particular case, I changed it
from allowing all connections from specified systems to allowing all
systems to connect to the relevant ports. If that does the trick, I'll
be very happy!

Thanks again.

So it would appear that the port in question (I've left all ports
as default) resets when the other client connects. When I run both
jobs from a central console (bconsole on the server), however, they
run simultaneously with no trouble.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I'm hoping it's
just something that I'm doing wrong.

Thanks.

Excellent. Keep me posted.

It's interesting... I had made a change to my firewall a few days
ago, and running a similar test today did not cause the first
client to disconnect. I'll have to test again when the person who
had the first computer I was testing with comes back. Hopefully it
is simply a matter of the firewall modification. In this
particular case, I changed it from allowing all connections from
specified systems to allowing all systems to connect to the
relevant ports. If that does the trick, I'll be very happy!

Thanks again.

When I see a 'Connection reset by peer' in my environment, it's

I do have firewalls running. I wouldn't have though that a

I'll try disabling them on all systems involved to see if it
makes any difference. Thanks for the idea.

I've not run into this error. Looking at the problem, it would
likely be in your network setup. Are you running through any
firewalls?

Hello again,

Has nobody else run into this problem? I couldn't find
anything about it in the mail archives, and I don't see any
problems with the configurations.

Thanks.

Hello,
This may be a known issue, or I may be missing something
obvious, but I've come across an interesting problem while
testing out the use of multiple consoles.
I'm running Bacula 1.38.5 on a FreeBSD box. For the purposes
of this test, I've set up two Windows systems (both on 1.38.4)
with different console settings. I'm trying out the third
type of console, where the user is able to run the setip
command and start the backups on their own. For what it's
worth, I'm running wx-console on both systems. This portion
of it works well. When the second system connects up and
starts a backup, however, the backup running from the first
system is canceled with the following error:
