Re: [Bacula-users] Status Errors

2007-10-18 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 That is called greylisting. Google for it.

It's a new server, not fully configured yet so I have to get to that too :).

 If it's a problem with the backup, it's worth putting on the list.

I guess I see it as operator error right now since it's nothing to do with the
software, just a newbie.

 Yes, most people use the manual. Start with the tutorial.

Have been but like I say, things haven't gone as noted in the documentation so
I've had to Google a lot of things too. Happy to see I'm at least at a good
starting point now. Thanks much for your input on this.

Mike

 Figured when it's mostly minutia, not worth filling the list until something

 Ok, so pretty much, this means that things are working ok now? That
 means, I move on to learning more about actual tape jobs or?

Yes.  Sure.

 Problem is, had things gone as the documentation goes, seems it would
 have been easier to learn. I'm sort of stuck piecing it all together
 now. Which documentation are most people using anyhow? The link you
 sent me I'm guessing?

Yes, most people use the manual. Start with the tutorial.

 I do have full access now, no more dbase errors. I'm trying to find

I am not sure you can set Volume size using the update command.

I'm guessing you might not have anything useful in that Volume, in

I see many errors;

Brand new installation, would there be another other than testing?

18-Oct 15:09 qualsrv-dir JobId 13: Using Device FileStorage

Of course, I'd like to use the tape but am not familiar enough yet to full
understand the concept. I've read and reread and am still reading.

 Good. Then you need to make that point *in* the email. :)

Thought I did by asking for thoughts and saying I wasn't sure where to start.
So, now that we're here...

I'm following along with the documentation but nothing much in there seems to
be anything that works in my setup at least. I'm sure I'm missing a few things

Re: [Bacula-users] Status Errors

2007-10-18 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 Why do you think the email is being blocked?

Qmail log;

 Putting stuff on the list ensures others can correct my errors and
 ensures that you are getting good advice.

Figured when it's mostly minutia, not worth filling the list until something
more relevant comes up.

 Here are the two jobs run again now;

 That job ran just fine. No errors. Nothing backed up, but then
 perhaps nothing has changed so there is nothing to backup.

 --

 That's OK too. Jobs are running fine.

Ok, so pretty much, this means that things are working ok now? That means, I
move on to learning more about actual tape jobs or?

Problem is, had things gone as the documentation goes, seems it would have
been easier to learn. I'm sort of stuck piecing it all together now. Which
documentation are most people using anyhow? The link you sent me I'm guessing?

Mike
