[BAROQUE-LUTE] Re: Help with Tudor Lute Music

2009-10-15 Thread wikla

Hi Mike,

my old and very basic version is in page
  http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/wikla/mus/PastimeMin.jpg

Perhaps you can start developing your version from that?

 Dear fellow enthusiasts

I realise this is the Baroque forum, but I have not got results
elsewhere.

Does anyone perchance have a tab rendering for Renaissance Lute (I
have
a 10 string) of the Tudor tune 'Pastime with Good Company'? I have
been asked to play at a local school as part of their Tudor season,
and
this has become a popular tune for the kids as it has been used in the
background to their activities.

Hope someone can help.

Many thanks for this. Isn't the internet wonderful!? I could not have
hoped for a response so quickly, and you have come up with the goods.

This is perfect for my purposes, and I certainly don't think I can
improve on it. Once I have a decent version of Greensleeves to go with
this tune, I will have the perfect repertoire for the kids plus a great
story about how I came by this version.

   Many thanks once again.

   Kinds regards

   Mike

Well Mike,

nice that my old arr still is useful - I used to play it years ago as a
ritornello to a group of singers singing this part song. And tell my best
wishes to the kids! :-)
