Called to order at 8 pm
18 people attended

we established a party jar

The minutes of meeting 1479 were accepted as 'posted online & done already'

the Treasurer reported that we have money

the VP was not here

the President had nothing fannish to report

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
[evil] Kevin announced that 3Below Theatres is showing family-friendly
Santastic-the-sing-along this weekend & Shannon Guggenheim's 'Who's
Holiday' as a not-family-friendly show, for more info check =

John O announced that Amazon Prime members have the opportunity to get
early tickets to see 'Aquaman' on Dec 15, so check that out

REVIEWS:
Bill commented that Sirius Satellite radio has a Hanukkah channel that has
a lot of country songs on it [https://www.siriusxm.com/radiohanukkahonline]
& then reviewed Turtledove's 'Through Darkest Europe' as interesting
alternate history

Lisa reviewed the latest episode of Dr Who as very satisfying & was a
history show again

Valerie reviewed 'Crimes of Grindewald' as she really likes the
world-building, but is not fond of some of the characters

[evil] Kevin reviewed all 12 books in the Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter
as he is very pleased with them and recommends them

Alex reviewed Disneyworld's new Pandora section as done really well & it's
worth seeing

Dave C reviewed Disneyworld as 'it's still Florida' & he kept hydrated.
The Pandora flight simulator was quite good, but tiring - with an hour & a
half wait for it - and this was when he got there at 10am

Vikas reviewed the astronomy talk at the Uproar Brewing Company as good &
the next one will be in January - for info check

held at Coco's, 1206 Oakmead Parkway (Lawrence Expressway/101 Fwy),
Sunnyvale

Began at 8pm - anticipating new movies
25 people attended

A party jar was established

The minutes of meeting 1166 were accepted as 'toad away'

the Treasurer was missing

The Vice President was missing

The President said 'hi' to Steve - and then to Chris [who was hiding under
a napkin - both of whom were visiting us for the 1st time

The AdHoc Outing Committee urges everyone to go out and see the 'Hobbit' -
'whenever'  is having outings to the Psychtronic Film Festival on Saturday
[$5 at Foothill College, parking lot #5, $3 for parking, 7pm, room 5015 
there'll be a raffle; plus an outing on Sunday at the Retrodome for the
Stop Motion Christmas special from noon to 6pm and then at 7pm [same place]
the Meshugah Nutcracker  some people will be in costume

Announcements:
Dave C announced that he has December's Cargo Cult catalogs out IN DECEMBER

Reviews:
[evil] Kevin reviewed ... stuff ... that was attended by Thinbot as an
interesting anthropological study, but with extra drama

Valerie -wanted- to review the 'Hobbit' but couldn't, so she reviewed books
- many that she had managed to thanfully forget, but she did enjoy
Cassandra Claire's 'Infernal Devices' and Alex Flynn's 'Beastly'

Carole reviewed 'Rise of the Guardians' as a decent plot, great fun and
worth seeing twice, Bill opined that someone had lots of fun writing the
dialogue for it  he was entertained by it - and also by 'Wreck it Ralph'

Diane reviewed Air NewZealand's flight safety film as worth searching out 
reviewed 'The Immune' by Don Lucky Meisenheimer as the best 25 cents she's
spent at a BASFA auction in a long time and a real good read

[tall] Kevin mentioned a 'Hobbit' report - and there was some discussion
about it

Chuck reviewed 'Hitchcock' as the actors did a good job  he thought it was
an okay film - worth matinee

Mo reviewed SMOFcon as really good  she learned a great deal from it 
reviewed Philidelphia as unseasonably warm  reviewed New Jersey as she saw
it across a river

Lisa reviewed Disneyland as they had a good time and the new rides are
entertaining -  Dave C agreed with her

Ken reviewed spending the weekend in SanFrancisco - as driving was
challenging the last 5 miles in and out and the weather was good - the big
shindig they went to was 'too loud' and the 'Dance Along Nutcracker' was fun

Howeird reviewed Spring's decorating as 'decorating is hard, drinking is
easy'

Steve reviewed Terry Pratchett's 'Dodger' as if you like Pratchett's style,
you'll like it

We did auctions
we adjourned at 9:36 pm

and the rumor of the week was:  'Stop that!  Stop that now!'
