version 9.6 find dialogue crash

2010-11-04 Thread Ptarmigan
hi
I upgraded to v 9.6.

Since when BBEdit crashes more or less every time I use Find. The
crashes occur when I type the search pattern.

Has a.o else had these crashes ?

Is there a solution ?

regards

Tom

perl expert needed

2010-11-04 Thread Greg Raven
From following this group, it seems that there is a fair number of
perl experts who use BBEdit. The company I work for is in need of a
perl expert. We've never hired an outside programmer, so I'm not
certain what the best approach is for us, but if you're a perl whiz
and have the time and knowledge to help us touch up our legacy code
and add some new functionality with new code, please contact me.

Thanks.

Re: Disk Browser does not list files when expanding folder on network volume

2010-11-04 Thread Josue Salazar
Rich,

Disabling Text Files Only did it. My files show up just fine now.

Thank you for the help, and ignore the previous message, I initially
missed your reply.

If I right click the folder in the Disk browser, and reveal in finder,
 the files are there.

You may wish to fiddle with the Text Files Only setting in the
popup menu at the bottom of the disk browser's file list.

Alternatively, depending on what the files are, you may find it
useful to map their filename extensions to an appropriate
language in the Languages preferences -- by default, any file
not recognizable as text by its metadata is assumed to be text
if it's got a mapping to a language.

 Enjoy,

Re: Disk Browser does not list files when expanding folder on network volume

2010-11-04 Thread Josue Salazar
Excuse the stupidity, but I somehow failed to state what the problem
is in the original post.

When the folder is loaded in the Disk Browser, and I try and expand a
subfolder to see the files in it, no files are shown in BBEdit.
It appears as if the folder was empty, when it is most certainly not.

I solved this problem by chopping off the right hand side of the keyboard:

I never used any of those keys to the right of the Enter key anyway.

… and the bit I was supposed to paste in before sending the message was:

There is apparently a way you can edit the keyboard layouts, either directly
editing the XML files themselves or using third party applications such as
Ukelele:

Hope this helps :)
