Comment and Uncomment Buttons grayed out on Utilities Palette
Is there any reason why the Comment and Uncomment buttons are not working on my Utilities Palette? All the other buttons are working, but these two are grayed out, and I can't click on them. Just noticed it recently, but I'm sure it was working at one point. Any help would be appreciated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the BBEdit Talk discussion group on Google Groups. eradicate CRs and truly enforce LF in files?
I've been bitten a number of times by apps that choke on CRs and other apps that sneak in those CRs. BBEdit seems to do the right thing and uses LF by default. However, BBEdit happily opens files where CRs are used and doesn't seem to mind those CRs and keeps them in the file even if you edit and save it while displaying in the bottom of the window that LF is used for the file. In other words, BBEdit doesn't seem to tell you when a file has CRs, and I can find BBEdit command thats shows whether a file does have those CRs, and no way to replace/eradicate them. Am I missing some hidden feature somewhere? (can't believe that I am the first and only one facing this issue) Thanks, Frank. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the BBEdit Talk discussion group on Google Groups. Removing file from project list when not found on FTP
I've added a file to a project window by dragging it from an FTP window. I've since then renamed that file on the FTP server. Now I trying to remove the file from the project list. But everytime I right- click on the file in the list to access the Remove menu item BBEdit throws me a error (kErrCouldNotStartDataTransfer (application error code: 22160)) since BBEdit is trying to open the file over FTP and can't find it. Is there another way to remove a file from a project list without contextual menu? (I know I can edit the project.bbprojectdata file, but I think I'm just missing an obvious way to do this in BBEdit.) /Adrian -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the BBEdit Talk discussion group on Google Groups. Howdy, If you look at the Status Bar at the bottom of the document window one of the popup menus shows the line endin used by that file and you can change it via that popup menu too. JavaScript Syntax Highlighting — Custom functions are not highlighted?
This just seems strange to me: http://cl.ly/Drzu In other editors, *any* function is highlighted in *some* way. In BBEdit, the call to shout() is left white, as though it were plain text. Is there some way for me to hack the highlighting rules to highlight function and method names? Has anyone done this? help un-corrupting whatever BBedit internal file I just goofed up?
Hi Everyone I'll post to support if need be.. but maybe this is quick, here: Yesterday I was foolishly rummaging through old files without thinking, and doubleclicked a (harmless, in its day) disk image (and I am not sure what else I did), that was named like so: WebDNA_Glossary.img ...which I think was meant for installing (many years ago, on an old version of BBedit (v.7 ?)) a clipping set, back when they were called glossaries (or am I remembering correctly?). Anyway, I thought I backed out of actually doing anything.. BUT, the problem is that now every time I go to use this command: File Open Recent Then immediately/automatically a (modal to BBedit) dialogue pops up, with a title bar of WebDNA Glossary.1 17-31-50.img.. which is apparently an end-user agreement dialogue.. like you get just before software installs. .. and I have to click one of the buttons (print, save, disagree, or agree).. and I always choose disagree, to dismiss the dialogue. But it comes right back a second time.. and after the second disagree, only then do I get control of BBedit back. If anyone has a clue what file I effectively corrupted, could you please guide me to remedy whatever i did! Nevermind. The issue resolved (went away), as soon as I changed the prefs related to recently-opened docs (number shown, and whether to show full paths). -Govinda -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the BBEdit Talk discussion group on Google Groups. Re: Comment and Uncomment Buttons grayed out on Utilities Palette
Bare Bones recently moved the Comment/Uncomment menu items from Markup to Text and combined them into one command. Maybe what is in the palette is a legacy not yet removed. I am seeing the same thing now but hadn't noticed it previously because I use the keyboard shortcut for this. You might ask support.
