Since I don't use Xcode, what does this feature do? (I got a picture of
how it works in my mind ... but my idea is just silly)

Hey Jan,

Been a while... :)

BBEdit will do this after a fashion.

Make a vertical selection and then type something.

Unfortunately the feature does not handle discontiguous selections, so its
utility is limited (for now).

I do think it foreshadows things to come though.

Combining Windows

2018-04-30 Thread Scott in Pollock
Is there a one step method for combining open windows. Seems like there
should be but the only way I can find is to:

View sidebar in each open window (one step for each window); drag documents
from sidebar of other windows to a single window (one step for each window
- 1). Total steps for 4 open documents... 7!

OR

View sidebar in one of the open windows, drag proxy icon of each of the
other open windows into the sidebar of the window with the sidebar (one
step for each window -1), then select and close window for each document
moved to the window with the sidebar (two steps for each moved document).
Total steps for 4 open documents... 10!!

I suppose it would also be nice to have a single step method for expanding
all open documents in a single window into individual windows (which also
currently seems to require multiple steps

Am I missing something, or are there no more convenient ways to do these
things.
