Is it the Open command
or after fetching the file and hitting OK?

SL has this delay on  Open? and Save? especially with ext. Drives connected.
I think, Apple works on this feature.

For any object from you are knowing the name or content:

- Command Space  (opens Spotlight)
- enter bbedit
- found files are shown in a list
- go gentle to the listentry hold down Command and press Cariage  
return (opens the containing object ie folder, the object is selected)

Tidy-Question about character-Set

Hello,
I have a beginner-question. Using  charset=iso-8859-1 or UTF8 and
coding Umlaute like ä with ä
tidy writes back ä and so on (ü,ö,ß ...). Text-encoding (Edit-menu) is
ISO Latin1, line-ending Mac.
How to do that Tidy keeps the encoding?
