Well, at first I didn't see *any* notification after a Search and Replace, but then I figured that I had tried the expert pref setting that Tom Robinson mentions in this thread (which didn't seem to make a difference). Setting the bool in the expert pref command to YES indeed made the little alert at the top of the document reappear. Notification Center is IMO for a very different type of notification and it annoys the hell out of me that I see notifications pop up after each Find and Replace operation. I see i this thread that there's a expert-pref setting for this, but I can't get that to work: still those annoying Notification Center popups. As the 10.5 release notes state: When running on 10.8 and later, BBEdit now uses the system-provided Notification Center for completion of certain operations, unless Growl is installed and running, in which case it will use Growl as before. I'm not sure when to expect Notification Center popups, even if the expert-pref supress would work, and I really wonder if Notification Center would be the right channel for those notifications. Replying to myself: the Notification Center (system) preferences indeed allow you to turn off these Notifications. Happy camper now.
